Nepal: 8 Killed in Clash between Maoists and MPRF in Rautahat

NHRN News Desk

Kathmandu, March 21:
Eight people are reported killed in a clash between Maoists and Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) activists in Rautahat district in central southern Nepal today.

Reports reaching here said the two groups clashed, resorting to crossfire in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat.

The clash took ugly turn following a dispute over the use of an open space for their political meetings near the Mills Area.

Several people have been hurt in the incident. Reports said the district authorities have announced curfew since this afternoon till early tomorrow morning.

Details about the victims and casualties are yet to arrive.

Maoists and MPRF activists have been frequently clashing with each other after the Terai agitation escalated last month.
